Ryan’s Automotive Service Center originally started in 1954 as a small, three bay cinder block auto repair
shop in a residential neighborhood on Taylor Street. Back then, Fairfield was a small city with only about 4,000
residents and Ben Oliver recognized the need for quality, reliable automotive repair within the community. Thus
Oliver’s Automotive was born.
Later, as business picked up, Ben partnered with John Wesner and in 1970 Oliver’s automotive became Oliver &
Wesner Automotive. Two years down the road, Ben retired leaving John as the sole owner and the name changed
to Wesner Automotive. Meanwhile, Ryan had just completed extensive training at Denver Automotive and Diesel
College and began working at Wesner Automotive in 1979. In 1985 Ryan and John became partners and Wesner &
Ryan’s Automotive was born. After John retired in 1992, Ryan became sole owner and the shop name was
changed one final time to the name it retains today, Ryan’s Automotive Service Center.
Today, Ryan’s Automotive has relocated to a brand new state of the art building at 1203 N. Texas Street. The new
building was designed and built by Ryan himself with minimal environmental impact and future long-term
sustainability in mind. The shop has been expanded to have 7 double bays, five full time ASE master certified
technicians and the most current, high tech vehicle analyzers and diagnostic systems. Each mechanic is well
versed in all methods of automotive repair, vehicle diagnostics and factory-scheduled maintenance. The shop
boasts nearly 200 years of combined experience in the automotive industry, which translates to a passion for
automobiles that far exceeds your ordinary auto repair shop.
Ryan’s Automotive has received The Daily Republic’s “ Best Place for Auto Repair ” Reader’s Choice award
six times (1996, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010), is AAA approved for automotive repair and is an accredited Better
